“El Coquí” ~ Latest painting final touches. Whether it’s with writing or with other art forms, sometimes it’s hard to know when you’re finished. This one is inspired by the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, featuring the coqui, which is the local tree frog. Coquis are usually very elusive and tiny, hard to see, but they sing “coquí” every night. It’s a lovely sound 🎶 With this piece, I wanted to make the coquí the center of attention, shining the light on what we normally don’t see. This one’s also dedicated to planet Earth too, because it’s her day! #HappyEarthDay 🌎
Fun fact: Until just some years ago, coquis only existed in Puerto Rico. Now they are also in Hawaii.
