
Originally from Puerto Rico, Carmen Gloria Pérez is a filmmaker, writer, actor, and founder of MOONFRAME, an AI-native creative studio producing award-winning speculative, documentary, and expressionist cinematic work.
She is one of the recipients of the 2025 John McCarthy Award for AI Filmmaking at AI Week Milan. Her most recent short film, The Secret Life Of DisPlay Artists, won a Bronze Telly Award in Generative AI - Narrative Short Film, and was selected as a finalist at the Artefact AI Film Festival in Paris, World AI Film Festival in Cannes, and HKUST AI Film Festival. Other notable projects include The Mars Novella, screened at the United Nations AI for the Future Festival (UNEA-7, Nairobi, Dec. 2025), and winner of Best Science Fiction at AIMF and the Prediction Award at BAIFF. Flower of the Valley, the Ana Roqué de Duprey story, won Best Documentary at AIFF Amsterdam, the Photography Award at BAIFF, Best Score + Script at AI Film Awards - Marrakesh Edition 2025, and was also featured on RAI Cinema’s digital platform in 2025.
Carmen spent over a decade working internationally as an actress, with more than 40 screen credits including Netflix’s A Storm for Christmas and Young Royals. She holds a B.A. in Government and International Politics.
In addition, over the past four years, she has worked freelance within the traditional film and television industry, supporting projects across coordination, operations, and development. With a background spanning public service, finance, and production, she brings both creative vision and a strong understanding of how ideas and projects come together. This experience shapes her work as a narrative artist and founder.
Pérez is based between Norway and the U.S., and speaks native English and Spanish, fluent Norwegian, and beginning Swedish. She is also the author of the Kid Astronomy children’s book series, created to inspire curiosity, positivity, and early interest in STEAM subjects, which continue to shape the fastest-growing careers and jobs of the future.
